Ames Is The 5th Fastest Growing City In The U.S.

(Undated) -- Ames is one of the fastest growing big cities in the country.

That's according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey, which looked at the 5-year growth of more than 380 metros.

From 2016 to 2021, the Ames area has grown by 30-percent, from 97-thousand people to more than 125-thousand.

The fastest growing big city in the country is Jackson, Tennessee, which grew nearly 40-percent in the same span.
