Iowa Wild Community Ice Rinks Nearly Ready

(Altoona, IA) -- Cold temperatures are just what's needed for local outdoor ice rinks.

Altoona is filling an Ice Rink donated by the Iowa Wild Hockey team.

It's the second season for the rink at Altoona's Ironwood Park.

The city says with the cold weather in the forecast, the rink should be frozen and ready for skating soon.

The rink is one of 10 donated by the Iowa Wild to make ice skating accessible in central Iowa.

The other rinks are in West Des Moines, Johnston, Ames, Ankeny, Indianola, Urbandale, Waukee, Grinnell, and Newton.
