(Omaha, NE) -- The man accused of shooting and killing the director of Creighton University Baseball Operations is found unfit to stand trial again.

This is the third time Ladell Thornton has been found mentally incompetent to stand trial in the murder of 37 year old Chris Gradoville. A Douglas County judge this week did rule that he believes Thornton, with time, will eventually become competent enough for trial. Thornton is accused of shooting Gradoville multiple times at a Benson home in September of 2021. Emergency crews pronounced Gradville dead outside the home near 61st and Pratt.

Thornton's status will be reviewed again in March.
