Nebraska Governor-Elect Pillen To Take Oath

The Inauguration Ceremony for Nebraska's constitutional officeholders, including Republican Governor-elect Jim Pillen and Lieutenant Governor-elect Joe Kelly, will be held in the Legislative Chamber of the State Capitol at 2 p.m. CST Thursday.

The Governor-elect's office says a reception and receiving line will follow at the Governor's Office.

The Governor's Inaugural Ball will be this Saturday evening at the "CHI Health Center Omaha."

The Nebraska Democratic Party Chair Jane Kleeb issues a statement on the inauguration of the Governor-elect:

“New name, same game. Jim Pillen will continue the legacy of the backdoor dealings of anti-choice billionaire Pete Ricketts. Pillen hid from voters during his campaign refusing to host debates and now he’s claiming to be a governor for the people while consistently supporting extreme policies. Hard-working Nebraskans know that Ricketts purchased Pillen’s seat, and to reciprocate, Pillen is handing Ricketts’ a US Senate seat to return the favor.”
