Central Place Levee Trail Project Gets $500K In Grant Funding

(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines City Council approves 500-thousand dollars in funding for the Central Place Levee Trail.

This begins the first phase of the project, which will connect the west side of the Des Moines River to the Neal Smith Trail at Birdland Park.

Funding comes from the Iowa DOT’s Transportation Alternatives Program.

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2024.
