OPD Update: Four people facing charges in school threat social media posts

(Omaha, NE) -- Omaha Police say four people are now facing charges in connection to social media posts that threatened area schools.

The Omaha Police Department Assault Unit has made the following arrests regarding the recent school threats investigation.

  • An 11 year old has been cited for disorderly conduct
  • A 12 year old has been cited for disorderly conduct
  • A 17 year old female has been booked for Terroristic Threats
  • A 19 year old male identified as Edwin Genchi-Carmona has been booked for Terroristic Threats

Police say the post had named nearly a dozen elementary, middle, and high schools and referenced the date of January 25th. OPD determined Wednesday that the threats were not credible.
