Northern Iowa Under Wind Chill Advisory Monday Night Thru Tuesday Morning

(Des Moines, IA) -- A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for Northern Iowa from 8 PM this evening thru 10 am Tuesday. The Advisory applies to counties north of U.S. 30. The National Weather Service says breezy conditions combined with cold temperatures could result in wind chill readings of -10 to -30 thru Tuesday morning. The Des Moines area could see a wind chill reading of -10 while far northern Iowa could see wind chill readings closer to -30.

The NWS reminds Iowans frostbite can occur on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes and to use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
