La Vista Police Chief Asks Judge To Quash Subpoena In Missing Persons Case

(La Vista, NE) -- The La Vista Chief of Police is fighting a subpoena in the case of a missing child.

La Vista Police Chief Bob Lausten is asking a Sarpy County judge to quash the subpoena issued by the mother of 12 year old Ryan Larsen. Tammi Larsen is asking the court to declare her son, who was last seen in May 2021, dead. Tammi must have the courts declare Ryan dead in order to file suit against Ryan's school and the La Vista School District. Tammi claims a La Vista Elementary School employee saw Ryan leave the school, but did nothing about it. Tammi's suit looks to find the school and district culpable in Ryan's disappearance and death due to negligence or a wrongful act.

Lausten told the court last week that the Ryan Larsen case is an ongoing search and criminal investigation, and testifying might make public specific confidential information and jeopardize the investigation.
