Crews Working To Restore Eastern Iowa Ice Storm Outages

(Undated) -- Utility crews are working in eastern Iowa to restore outages caused by the ice storm. Alliant Energy Crews have reduced the number from a couple thousands to a few hundred. Crews with eight electric cooperatives in eastern Iowa are also working to restore outages caused by the ice, including in Linn and Johnson counties.

As of 9 a.m. there were roughly 600 outages in Johnson County, and 60 in Linn County, according to Linn County Rural Electric Cooperative.

MidAmerican Energy reports about 100 outages, most of which were in the Des Moines area, as of 11 a.m.
