Suspect in Laurel, NE murders wants charges dropped

(Laurel, NE) -- One of the suspects in a quadruple murder case in Laurel, Nebraska is asking to have the charges against her dropped.

Carrie Jones is charged with murder in the August 4th death of Gene Twiford. She is also accused of aiding her husband in the deaths of three other people: Janet Twiford, Dana Twiford and Michelle Ebeling. Jones' lawyer argues that that the state has failed to establish “probable cause.”

A Cedar County judge will hear arguments on the plea from both sides during a hearing on Monday. If the judge grants Jones’ plea, the charges would be dismissed.
