Iowa-Based Unity Point Health May Merge With New Mexico System

(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowa-based Unity Point Health has signed a letter of intent with New Mexico's Presbyterian Healthcare Services to explore the formation of a new health care organization.

Both systems would keep their brands, and would represent more than 40-hospitals and hundreds of clinics. The two systems would employee roughly 40-thousaned people, including 3,000 physicians.

While we’ve done that successfully independently, we know that partnering with like-minded health systems will allow us to accelerate our efforts,” says Dale Maxwell, president and CEO, Presbyterian Healthcare Services.
