(Urbandale, IA) -- Urbandale residents will vote today (Tuesday) on the future of a proposed multi-million dollar recreation complex.

Voters in Urbandale will decide whether or not to approve a $43 million dollar investment in the U-Plex, an indoor and outdoor community recreation complex that will include a gymnasium, a walking track, tennis and pickleball courts, a splash pad, and more. The site for the proposed recreation complex is located at the southeast corner of Meredith Drive and 152nd. Voting on the proposal is for Urbandale residents only. The city of Urbandale estimates that the project would cost Urbandale homeowners with an assessed home value of $200,000 roughly $119 per year, or $0.33 cents per day. The term of the bond levy would be 20 years.

Urbandale residents can find their polling place through the city of Urbandale's website.
