Iowa City Preparing For Influx Of Women's College Basketball Fans

(Iowa City, IA) -- Iowa's getting ready for thousands of college women's basketball fans for the NCAA Women's Tournament in Carver-Hawkeye Arena this week. Iowa is hosting the first and second round games. The games are sold out.

Nick Pfeiffer, of Think Iowa City tells Iowa's News Now (KGAN-TV) the games will like pump at least $1 million into the local economy. Iowa City has experience hosting the games, having done so in 2022, 2019 and 2015.

The Iowa Women are a #2 seed and play SE Louisiana State Friday at 3 p.m. The winner will advance to play either Florida State or Georgia.
