Council Bluffs Police say they have now arrested a southwest Iowa woman in connection with a fatal vehicle-pedestrian incident early Christmas Eve morning.
Investigators say 47-year old Angela Thurman of Pacific Junction was under the influence of numerous controlled substances when the vehicle she was driving struck and killed 74- year old Juan Avalos at Poplar Drive and Birch Street.
Warrants for Thurman’s arrest include Homicide by Vehicle and third offense OWI with bond set at $150,000.
