(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- It's Compost Awareness Week, and the city of Cedar Rapids is encouraging residents to compost for several reasons other than extending the life of the landfill.
Sara Maples, Cedar Rapids Sustainability Program Manager tells Iowa's News Now that composting is not only beneficial for the land, and the air, it's easy.
She says residents can get a composting cart from the city that will be picked up on regular garbage days.
