(Moline, IL) -- New technology is helping the Moline Fire Department with training. It's an augmented reality device with a touchscreen and mock fire extinguisher.

Moline Fire Inspector Kevin Sorby tells WQAD News 8 that the device is safer than training with real fire, and its portability will allow them to train people in the community on how to properly use fire extinguishers.

The unit costs about $10,000.
