(Indianola, IA) -- A driver reported missing and endangered from Missouri, was found in Indianola Saturday, May 13th. An Indianola Police officer got an alert from a License Plate Reader camera, that the missing person was in the area. The officer pulled over the driver north of Indianola in rural Warren County (Elk Horn and Highway 65/69). The individual, who has dementia, was taken to the police station and reunited with family.
"I want to commend Officer Stever for his quick actions. I believed he saved a life today and I know the family is very grateful," said Chief Brian Sher. I have complete faith and trust in my officers' ability to think and act professionally, even when that means leaving city limits or going above and beyond their typical duties because of extenuating circumstances."
