(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The average Cedar Rapids homeowner could pay over 85-dollars more a year for water and sewer services next year.

City Council still needs to give final approval to a plan to raise water bill rates by 5.9-percent.

The city's Utilities Director says the increase is needed to cover the 4 to 6 percent of increased costs the city incurs every year to provide the water and sewer services.
