Gas Prices In Iowa Rise As Memorial Day Weekend Approaches

(Davenport, IA) -- Gas prices in Iowa are starting to creep up as the holiday weekend approaches.

According to Triple-A, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas statewide rose 4-cents overnight to $3.24 a gallon.

Prices have stayed steady in Des Moines, and Iowa City. Ames is up a nickel since Monday.

Davenport is up 10-cents a gallon, while the average price in Cedar Rapids rose 13-cents overnight.

Triple-A expects 38.4-million Americans to hit the road for the Memorial Day weekend--a 4% increase over last year.
