The E-F 2 tornado packed winds up to 135 miles per hour and traveled from Polk County to Story County, between 4:30 and 5:05 p.m. The NWS reports the twister traveled 41-miles over mostly rural areas, from Cambridge to east of the Story County seat of Nevada, and lifted near Zearing in northern Story County.

Spencer says it caused farm damage and farmers are busy picking up debris that was blown from neighboring farms. She encourages residents to report damage HERE and farmers to report tornado damage to their Farm Service Agency.

Spencer also says the twister caused considerable tree damage in rural areas, snapping large trees like twigs.

There were two injuries, both described as non-life threatening.
