Omaha Public Power District crews and their MidAmerican Energy counterparts on the Iowa side of the Missouri are working to restore power to thousands of customers after severe thunderstorms came through eastern and southeast Nebraska into western and southwest Iowa in the pre-dawn hours Friday.
Numerous tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings were issued by the National Weather Service.
The already saturated ground from this wet Spring and the downpours of Tuesday morning takes on more precipitation, but so far, so good.
The National Weather Service says minor flooding will still be possible along the Missouri River from Brownville to Rulo.
