(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Eastern Iowa Honor Flight that's returning home today will be delayed due to weather over the weekend in other parts of the country.
Nearly 90 veterans are in Washington D.C. today on the 51st Eastern Iowa Honor Flight.
They're in the nation's capitol visiting memorials built in their honor.
The flight will return to the Eastern Iowa Airport at 10:20 p.m. this evening - one hour later than originally scheduled, to allow the veterans the opportunity to see all memorials scheduled for the trip.
The public is invited to salute the vets by welcoming them home at a ceremony at 7:30 p.m. this evening at Eastern Iowa Airport.
