(Des Moines, IA) -- A handgun was spotted at the T-S-A checkpoint this week at the Des Moines International Airport. A T-S-A officer spotted the handgun on the X-ray machine, in a carry-on bag. Des Moines Police were called, the gun was confiscated and the passenger was given a citation.
The TSA says the gun was loaded with 14-rounds, but none in the chamber. The T-S-A says it's the eighth firearm detected this year. Seven were found last year.
