Omaha Police say one person was injured in a shooting near 110th and Cottonwood Plaza near I-680 and West Maple Road.
Police say officers were called to an emergency room around at 12:35 a.m. Monday on a report of a walk-in shooting victim.
Officers spoke with 23-year old Mateo Tapia, who said he was shot during a robbery attempt.
Tapia said he was in the apartment complex parking lot at 112 Cottonwood Plaza when a male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt approached him and demanded money.
Tapia told police the suspect engaged him in a fight, pulled out a firearm, and shot Tapia.
Tapia's injury is not life threatening.
