New Details Released About Mystery Truck At Eastern Iowa Reservoir

(Johnson County, IA) -- There are some new details about an old pick-up truck, pulled out of the Coralville Reservoir. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says they've determined the 1969 Datsun truck was reported stolen in 1977. Local fishermen spotted it on sonar, 20-feet under water last month. The Johnson County Metro Dive team used public safety divers, lift bags, and towing equipment to pull out the truck out of the water near the West Overlook area of Coralville Reservoir.

The Sheriff's Office says the truck's owner has been notified, but due to the length of time, any criminal charges are beyond the statute of limitations.
