(Lincoln, NE) -- A Nebraska rules banning abortion after 12 weeks and gender change medical treatment for people younger than 19 are being challenged.
The rules were put in place by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services after a state law was passed in May 2023. Nebraska Senator Machaela Cavanaugh is challenging the regulations.
She says the rules exceed the statutory language and intent of the passed bills.
The Nebraska State Supreme Court rejected another challenge to the same laws.
