(Iowa County, IA) -- A Des Moines woman is dead and another person hurt after a crash Tuesday morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says the single-vehicle crash happened in Iowa County north of Millersburg just before 7am. Investigators say the driver, 53 year-old Jeanne Kashindi ran a stop sign and lost control. The vehicle hit several pieces of broken up concrete before flipping on its side.
Kashindi was killed in the crash, and her passenger, 18 year-old Rachel Happy, also of Des Moines, was taken to University of Iowa Hospital.
