Flags will be at half staff for almost a month to honor former President Jimmy Carter.
Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen ordered the flags to be lowered starting yesterday. He commended Carter for his time serving the US Navy and working with charities like Habitat for Humanity after his presidency.
Carter was the longest living former president, living until the age of 100 before he died yesterday.
Flags will be at half staff until January 28th.
