(Hills, IA) -- The mayor of Hills is sharing his frustrations about the Iowa City School District decision to close the only school in the town.
In a newsletter, Mayor Tim Kemp writes that the school district says they closed Hills Elementary claiming it's not in a growing community, but now they want to keep the land because of Hills growth, rather than sell it to the city.
Pre-work has already begun at the school ahead of its demolition next week.
