(Cedar Falls, IA) -- Students at the University of Northern Iowa will have more housing options in the coming months. The Iowa Board of Regents is approving UNI's agreement to purchase an apartment complex, currently known as "The Quarters" located near the campus. The school says it sits on ten acres, has eleven buildings, parking space, a pool, even a clubhouse, and can house up to 480 students.

The University has also obtained permission to demolish Campbell Hall, which previously had capacity for nearly 600 students.

Dating to the 1950s, the school says Campbell Hall has fallen into disrepair and has been vacant in recent years. The building was named to honor the former longtime Dean of Women Sadie B. Campbell, who was at UNI in the 1930s and 40s.

You can read more about the project in a press release from UNI.
