Federal Funds For Quad Cities-Chicago Rail Extended

(Moline, IL) -- A deadline to use federal monies for Amtrak service between the Quad Cities and Chicago is being extended.

The U.S. Department of Transportation is pushing the time period to use $177-million in federal funds for the project out an additional year-and-a-half.

A commitment of $225-million from the state of Illinois has already been extended.
