Iowan to Be Inducted in Astronaut Hall of Fame

(Mt. Ayr, IA) -- A native Iowan will be inducted in the US Astronaut Hall of Fame. Peggy Whitson was born in Mount Ayr and is a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan University in Mt. Pleasant. She's logged 675 total days in space, which is an American Astronaut record. She was the first woman to command a private mission, and she will lead her second for Axiom to the International Space Station this Spring. She'll be officially inducted on May 31st.
