(Omaha, NE) -- Police say a psychologist in the Papillion-La Vista Community School District is being held in Douglas County Corrections.
44-year -old Jeffrey Fauble is also now on administrative leave from the school district after his arrest for first degree and third- degree sexual assault of a child.
He was a psychologist at G. Stanley Hall Elementary.
The school district issued a statement: "Papillion La Vista Community Schools announced today that Jeffrey Fauble, school psychologist, has been placed on administrative leave. Douglas County Department of Corrections reports that he has been arrested on criminal charges. At this time, there is no information indicating any involvement of PLCS students or families in this matter.
Mr. Fauble will not be permitted on campus or allowed contact with students. District and school administration will cooperate fully with law enforcement should they contact us regarding this matter.
The school district is already working to ensure the school psychologist's responsibilities are covered without any interruption in service to students. The first priority remains meeting the needs of students.
We have shared this information with staff and families at GSH to ensure open communication at the school. We understand this news may be concerning, and we are committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all students."
