(Iowa) -- A new report from the Iowa Business Council looks at how Iowa's economy measures up to other states.
The Iowa Business Council has been releasing the Iowa Competitive Dashboard report annually since 2011 as a way to see how Iowa's economy compares with the economies of other states. The report looks at 5 key metrics, including:
- Economic growth
- Workforce & Education
- Governance
- Health & Wellness
- State Demographics
The report shows that Iowa's overall gross product continues to grow, up over 6.5% compared to last year's report, rising to roughly $254 billion dollars. Iowa's population demographics continue to be a challenge, despite overall growth in the state's population. The report finds that Iowa's economy is poised for more growth, due in part to its tax climate.
