Starting this weekend, Omaha residents can pick up free mulch made from debris collected during last year's storms.

The Omaha Parks & Recreation Department and Public Works Environmental Quality say the mulch will be available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Al Veys Park, 6506 South 60th St., between April 12th and April 26th while supplies last.

The site will be closed on Sundays.

Josh Frey with Parks and Rec says the department has been working all winter to repurpose the debris gathered from storms in 2024.

Those picking up mulch will have to bring proof of residency and their own loading equipment.
