(Davenport, IA) -- A report on the collapse of a downtown Davenport apartment building nearly two years ago says the cause was inadequate repair techniques.

A summary of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation report doesn't assign criminal blame, but says a lack of understanding of the building's construction, and poor shoring during repairs caused the collapse.

Three men died when the west wall of the main Street apartment building collapsed Memorial Day weekend in 2023.

In February, Scott County Attorney Kelly Cunningham said in light of the report no criminal charges would be filed.
