Man wanted for attempted murder in Fort Dodge is arrested in Des Moines

A man wanted for attempted murder in Fort Dodge has been arrested in Des Moines.

The investigation started after a shooting in Fort Dodge on March 28th, where a man suffered a gunshot wound to the face. His injuries were not life-threatening.

A tip came in at 10:47 a.m. Friday that the suspect, Dontay Diekman, was at 1530 20th Place in Des Moines.

He was taken into custody by Des Moines Police. He's facing charges of:

  • Attempt to Commit Murder (B Felony)
  • Going Armed with Intent (D Felony)
  • Possession of Firearm as Felon (D Felony)

Fort Dodge Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
