(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Over two dozen people are losing their jobs with the Cedar Rapids Community School District.

The Educational Leadership and Support Center is the target of the latest district-wide staffing realignment to try to close a $12-million budget shortfall.

Almost 30 jobs are being cut from the center, with an expected savings just shy of $1.7-million dollars annually.

More cuts are expected before June.

District leaders say some student programs are expected to be dropped too.
