An officer-involved shooting by a Webster County Deputy is ruled to be legally justified.

Sac County Attorney Ben Smith said that Deputy Matt Miller was justified when he shot Shawn Marshall of Gowrie after a chase on April 7.

The Webster County Sheriff's Office says they responded to a domestic disturbance that night, where they learned Marshall had been drinking and driving, and had a gun in his car.

After the chase, the Sheriff's Office says Marshall reached down into his passenger seat and made a shooting motion toward deputies, leading Deputy Miller to shoot Marshall in the hand.

WCSO says Marshall remains hospitalized, and charges are still pending.
