(Dallas County, IA) — A Des Moines man is facing several charges after thousands of gallons of diesel fuel were spilled onto a farm property and into Little Walnut Creek.
Officers responded to a farming company in Waukee on Saturday, where they discovered a suspect had accessed an above-ground diesel fuel storage tank and let around 4,000 gallons of fuel spill onto the property, which eventually flowed into the creek. The cost of the fuel spilled is more than $10,000, and the estimated cost of the environmental cleanup is more than $100,000.
36-year-old Aaron Peek was arrested on Tuesday by the Dallas County Sheriff's Office. He was a former employee of the farming company.
