(Dane County, WI) -- A seat left open in the Dane County Circuit Court after Susan Crawford was elected to the state Supreme Court is now filled.

Governor Tony Evers is appointing Ben Jones, a Monona resident and University of Wisconsin Law School grad, to fill the vacancy. He was most recently a lawyer for the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Crawford's seat was left empty when Wisconsin voters elected her to the State Supreme Court last month.

Jones will serve the Dane County court until the end of next July.
