Nebraska Senate Committee Advances Second Medical Cannabis Appointee

(LINCOLN, NE) -- A Nebraska legislative committee has reversed course and advanced a second nominee to the state’s new Medical Cannabis Commission.

State Sen. Stan Clouse changed his vote Tuesday to support Lorelle Mueting of Gretna, allowing her appointment to move forward. Mueting, who works in prevention services at Heartland Family Service, will join Dr. Monica Oldenburg of Lincoln in seeking full legislative confirmation.

Both appointees advanced in 5-3 party-line votes. The Medical Cannabis Commission must finalize regulations by July 1 ahead of dispensary licensing this fall.
