(Linn County, IA) -- Linn County's cancer rates are consistently higher than national averages.
Those are the latest findings from the Iowa Cancer Registry's statewide Cancer in Iowa: 99 Counties Project.
Community members gathered at the Linn County Health Office were told breast, lung, and melanoma are the leading types of cancer in the county.
The group hopes to educate Iowans on the importance of regular screenings, and making lifestyle changes to reduce cancer risk.
