(Rock Island, IL) -- A Rock Island County teen will spend 35 years in prison for first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Danny Taylor two years ago.
Prosecutors say Johnell Smith was one of three teens who broke into the Taylor's Milan home before Danny was shot and killed in April of 2023.
Napoleon Jackson, who police say was the trigger man, is still awaiting trial in the case.
Police say Smith was involved in a riot at the Mary Davis Home in Galesburg last week.
