The Douglas County Sheriff's Department is urging businesses to protect their equipment if it's left in unsecured locations after a drill worth $150,000 was stolen from a construction site near 215th and W. Maple Rd. on July 14th. The Sheriff's Department is asking anyone who knows or has seen the stolen Vermeer Drill to call them.
They also say to make sure people who own expensive pieces of equipment take pictures with the serial number, and to install a tracking monitor on the equipment. While tracking devices like Apple Air Tag run on Bluetooth and can be limiting in certain situations, there are other GPS devices that might be covered by insurance companies.
