(Iowa City, IA) -- A man from Iowa City accused of murdering the mother of his child will argue diminished capacity due to being intoxicated and self-defense when he goes to trial early next year.
Joshua Perry is accused of killing Victoria Skarda in their Iowa City home in January.
Police initially arrested Perry on domestic abuse and child endangerment charges.
A murder charge was added in March when her death was ruled a homicide.
Perry's trial is scheduled for January 27th.
