(Des Moines, IA) -- Traviss Audio Video is preparing to close its doors after 76 years in business.
“People knew us. We’ve been in Des Moines a long time. It was really just built off the legacy our father started,” said Randy Traviss, Sales Manager of Traviss Audio Video.
The family-owned audio and video store has operated in Des Moines since 1949. Opened by R.M. Traviss, the store sold and serviced audio and video equipment, including TVs, sound systems, and home entertainment setups.
“We are all looking forward to it. We’ve had a good run. We are grateful we have been able to survive against all the competition for this long. It was just a good time to make this decision,” said Traviss.
The store does not have a set closure date but plans to remain open until at least the end of the year.
