Cedar Falls, IA -- The University of Northern Iowa men's basketball coaching job didn't stay open for long.
The school says former UNI assistant coach Kyle Green is the program's new head coach.
Green takes over for longtime Panthers coach Ben Jacobson, who was announced as Utah State's new head coach on Monday.
Green comes back to Cedar Falls from Ames, where he was an assistant to Iowa State head coach TJ Otzelberger the last five years.
Green was an assistant coach at Northern Iowa for 16 years in three separate stints--2001-03, 2006-11 and 2012-21 under head coaches Greg McDermott and Ben Jacobson.
UNI says Green's agreed to a five-year deal.
