(Iowa City, IA) -- University of Iowa Men's Basketball coach Ben McCollum signs a contract extension.
McCollum's original contract as the Hawkeye men's basketball coach ran through April of 2031, but the university has announced that he has signed a contract extension through 2032. The Hawkeye men's team made its first appearance in the Elite Eight since 1987 and its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2023 during McCollum's first season as head coach.
Prior to taking over as Iowa Men's Basketball Coach, McCollum coached 15 seasons at Northwest Missouri State, leading that program to four national championships in NCAA Division II play, then coached for one season at Drake University in NCAA Division I. In his lone season at Drake, McCollum coached the Bulldogs to a 31-4 record.
