(Des Moines, IA) -- An update to a story we reported earlier today: an 8 year old boy hit by a truck while riding his bike on Des Moines' southwest side has died of his injuries.
Des Moines Police say crews responded to reports just before noon of a child hit by a vehicle at an apartment complex in the 6000 block of Creston Avenue. Police say the 8 year-old boy was riding a bike when he was hit by a vehicle traveling through a parking lot.
The crash remains under investigation.
